Rules of the road

Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and QAcademy AI when you create an account or use qacademyai.com. By using the platform you confirm you are at least 16 years old, or that a parent or guardian has set up your account.

1. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity on your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access. We may suspend accounts that share credentials, automate access, or otherwise breach these Terms.

2. Acceptable use

  • Do not use AI tools on QAcademy AI to harm, defraud, deceive, harass, dox or impersonate anyone.
  • Do not generate sexual content involving minors, content that promotes self-harm, malware, weapons, or illegal activity.
  • Do not rely on AI output for regulated decisions (medical, legal, financial, safety-critical).
  • Do not attempt to bypass safety reviews, scrape paid content, or reverse-engineer protected components.
  • Respect intellectual property — yours and ours and third parties'.

We may remove content and suspend accounts that violate these rules. Repeat violations result in permanent removal.

3. Family and child accounts

For accounts that include child profiles, the parent or guardian remains the legal account holder and accepts these Terms on the child's behalf, including the Child Safety Statement. Parents must review child submissions where indicated.

4. Certificates

QAcademy AI certificates are issued automatically when you meet the published requirements for that course (lesson completion, exercises submitted, safety score thresholds). Certificates are recognition of practical learning, not regulated accreditation or professional licensure. We may revoke certificates obtained through misrepresentation or rule-breaking.

5. Payments & subscriptions

Paid courses, packs and subscriptions are billed in advance through our payment processor. By purchasing you authorise the recurring charge for the term you select. Cancellation, refund and consumer-rights details are in our Refund Policy. Prices may change; existing subscriptions are honoured at the current rate until renewal.

6. Intellectual property

Course content, design, code, brand and certificates are owned by QAcademy AI or our licensors. You receive a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to access them for your own learning. You retain ownership of your own submissions; you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and (in anonymised form) use them to improve the platform.

7. AI providers & output

AI-generated output is probabilistic and may be inaccurate. You are responsible for reviewing AI output before acting on it. We do not warrant fitness for any particular purpose. Our AI Content Policy describes what is and isn't allowed.

8. Disclaimers & liability

The service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability to you for any claim is capped at the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) €100. We exclude liability for indirect, consequential or punitive damages. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (e.g. for fraud, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, statutory consumer rights).

9. Termination

You can close your account at any time from your Account & Privacy page. We can suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms, on reasonable notice except where immediate action is required to protect users or our service.

10. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Consumers retain the protections of the mandatory law of their country of residence. Disputes go to the courts of England and Wales unless your local consumer law gives you a non-waivable right to sue locally. EU consumers may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms; material changes are announced by email and a banner on the platform at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
